T House in calle Pte Roca, Rosario

Very close to the central and commercial area of the city, the area where work is situated is an area with predominantly single-family homes between party deployed within the typical apple and orthogonal grid rosary.

THE PROGRAM:
In a small batch of 7.32 x 15.55 meters. where an old house was located was settled chorizo ground floor apartment for an elderly person and a department of revenue in the second floor.
The program was thought “as” the principal thinking of the “home for a grandmother.”

The result of studying the functional requirements determined that the main house emplazaría almost entirely relying on ground floor with only a high terrace or solarium use of tender.

The ground floor would place an open courtyard with some partially covered for any car parking. Inside it required a large space that integrates the kitchen, the living and dining room. Also needed a bath, master bedroom and a small room that would provide comfort wildcard or bedroom for visitors.
At first, the construction of an apartment upstairs income was not a primary need, but during the design process we discovered the benefits this would give the project, which lie in:

  • better use of buildable square feet as urban regulations.
  • The possibility of a making a “facade more interesting.”

THE PROJECT
There were two points structuring the project:
The first was based on the rear of the lot maintains the wall, the patio, the openings and the original cover, keeping the concept of the house chorizo. In this way it was defined an interior space with a width of 4.30 meters. and 2.70 yard wide.
The second point lies in the composition of the facade.
The intention was to unify the department formally upstairs and downstairs housing as a single house.

THE CRANE
A single metal gate which includes the entrance door to ground floor as a floor, achieves a formal but non-functional integration of the two houses.
The stairs to the apartment was located parallel to the facade is hidden behind a wall of concrete.
The wall that faces south, is projected as a front over the house, making volumetrically be integrated with the facade.
This integration is generated not only by the use of the same material at the front and side of the volumes, but also by prolonging the span of floor to the walls.
A “white ribbon” along the façade in the form of “this”, which on reaching the top is shifted to the front line, try to give a feeling of “movement” and a distortion of perspective.
The volume that contains the water tanks work as a composition element of repeating the same language as the rest of the volume.

LIVING ROOM
The visual and spatial fluidity attempted to generate between the living room and the courtyard is enhanced due to the extension of the new exposed concrete slab to the outside and a large glazed opening is hidden inside a wall to remove the inner limit- abroad.
The interior floor of incense wood, creates a feeling of “warmth” that is its continuity in the port of entry made in the same material.

LADDER
The exterior stairway leading to the terrace, with rungs made of quebracho wood built into the wall. This way of solving the ladder allows a visual continuity across the courtyard, which was necessary due to the small size of it.

THE BATHROOM
To save space in the kitchen dining room bathroom had to be done with the minimum possible width. Thus, in this case it was decided to emphasize the height of the room by placing a coating that is developed throughout the height of a wall and continues on the floor.
The other wall was performed without reaching to the ceiling making generate greater spatial continuity. ”
