Small and functional modern studio of 18 m2

When space is limited it is important to the organization at home and restricts everything superfluous.

The project

Bioappart, by the French study Karavitz Architecture is an experience well resolved, in which the optimization of space based on the concept of sustainability.

The small size and limited budget (42,000 euros) not impossible to find an interesting solution which reinterprets the idea of luxury, adapting it to contemporary demands.

The starting point: only 18 m2 in Paris, in a heritage building. Needs, creating a kitchen, a bed, a living-dining room and a bath in a very restricted area.

But that’s not all: The department is designed to offer maximum comfort while respecting the environment. Bioappart is the first in a series of accommodation for rent, plus a unique project.

The materials are environmentally friendly: the grid is shielded to eliminate the magnetic field. And the sound insulation ensures either absolute silence.

The furniture is designed to measure environmental material. The bathroom and kitchen, we applied the technique of coating used in Morocco, which is not made with cement, in order to obtain a water resistant coating and totally organic.

The interior is characterized by a minimalist style and the concept of modulation. The red couch into a bed, the table is hidden in a wall. Eliminating superfluous to the maximum expression, using the functionality, space is full enjoys. And the 18 m2 are sufficient for an apartment in the French capital.
