Rehabilitation and ampliation of the Serrano Theater
The rehabilitation project Serrano Teatro de Gandía has as its primary objective the comprehensive redevelopment of the original building in order to adapt to new functional needs and facilities of the city, ushering in the possibility of building a second room inside the building and providing a new stage house and dressing room block and adequate services to new areas.
The new theater full use of the original building had several uses outside the theater, and an apartment building that was embedded in the floor of that since its construction.
The project retrieves the entry for the center of the original building’s facade thus enhancing the recovery of urban and architectural representation of the Teatro Serrano. The rest of the facade is so new cloths properly align it with the existing building no competition between them. It highlights the volumes corresponding to the internal configuration of the building in which he outlines the volume of the box the rest of the stage and especially on the main floor.
The interior has been arranged so you can make a separate use of both rooms, agreeing, however, set the main hall of the foyer of the second room, located on the first floor. The foyer of the main hall is developed throughout the height of the building, lit from above with oblique light from two skylights in the roof open.
