Modern Architecture: Grangegorman House, minimalist design
Grangegorman Residence, located in north Dublin, has recently received the Irish Architecture Award for the Best House in 2009. The study Odos Architects has been responsible for its design.
The house is divided into three levels, a workshop on the ground floor and two habitable floors. The facade that combines glass with aluminum, is one of the most marked signs of identity for his cubist structure in contrast with the rest of the neighborhood’s traditional houses. The interior stands out for its minimalist and simple elegance, with large windows that let in natural light.
