Interpretation Centre Cape Prioriño

Prioriño Cape Interpretive Centre is located next to the port of Ferrol and it houses an exhibition composed of 20 panels explaining the history of defensive batteries and the construction of the outer harbor.

Battery Point Vineyard, the lighthouse, the bird observatory and battery Prioriño complete the complex.

The complex includes an Interpretive Building, the renovated Viñas battery (which was relocated piece by piece to its current location), the Lighthouse Prioriño, the bird observatory and Prioriño battery, which is currently working on its value .

The Interpretive Center is included within the Port Authority projects that foster the relationship between the port and born citizens and to bring the visitors a vital part of the history of Ferrol: the origin and evolution of defensive batteries construction and integration, in the same environment, a work of great magnitude such as the outer harbor.

POINT VINEYARDS

Viñas battery tip, created in 1739, notable for its historical and symbolic value. The Port has recovered the old fort integral existing in the area and had been dismantled in 1994. Now you can see its original structure with a building housing a small garrison, the magazine called the bullet and stay red, in which bullets were heated before being fired.

Prioriño

This fort was found during the execution of development works in the area. The Port commissioned an archaeological study has revealed that it is Prioriño Battery which was built in the late eighteenth century. It has been submitted to the Ministry of Culture the enhancement project to enable the battery, a project that has been developed in the second half of 2009.
