Coyoacan House: Residential Building design by Gomez Crespo

The remodeling project was to renovate an original design of architect Pedro Ramirez Vazquez, adding to the additional space required by the new owner, such as a family room, dressing areas and service areas.

The original project was almost fully respected. Ground floor areas for the use of social character are closely connected with the garden areas. Cancel floor to ceiling were proposed to achieve seamless integration between indoor and outdoor visual.

The axis of movement, meaning the center of the project is complemented by natural light through a large dome. The main steps play a role in the project. Designed in steel and marble sculptural form give personality and character of modernity in this project.

Upstairs are the only areas of family use of the household. They handled the same concept of integration with the outside. A terrace with a wooden deck allows two of the rooms are in direct contact with the garden.

The family room, a space with half height and provided with supplementary natural lighting on the stairs main dome.

A contemporary simplicity concept was used for the selection of interior finishes, low diversity of materials and neutral colors: cream marble, maple wood, steel gray and white walls.

The facades of the house were intentionally designed with two premises:

The main (street) as an architectural element mass with few openings to provide privacy, rear (garden) in a composition predominantly of glazed openings that seeks to take advantage of natural lighting and integration with the outdoors.

The architectural design of this house was to relate closely the main spaces of the house with the garden, using large windows to the east.

On the ground floor, all areas intended for use by social are linked visually to the outside. Inside the house all the spaces are linked by a main circulation axis disposed at the center of the project.

The main steps play a role in the project, providing the personality and character of modernity to the house. These are designed as steel and marble sculpture, accompanied by a large dome that also illuminates the main circulation, the lobby and TV room.

On the top floor, are the only areas of family use. These will be handling the same concept of integration with the outside. A terrace with a wooden deck allows two of the rooms are in direct contact with the garden. The family room is a space half the proposed height and making it very comfortable.
