15 Union Square Apartments by Eran Chen and Perkin Eastman

This is a luxury apartment building designed by Eran Chen of ODA-Architecture and Perkin Eastman. A large glass curtain is interrupted only by the play of volumes that defy the classic pattern of brick buildings adjacent. The existing building, designed for Tiffany in 1870, would be the main protagonist, as its iron and brick structure would be visible behind the glass curtain of the first five floors. Chen said that the facade changes during the day being more or less visible along the former front, Chen said the intent is to confuse the traveler, give a different perspective on contemporary architecture and traditional New York every time you face the building.
